Trieste, Italy, June 2007

In June 2007 I spent a week at the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) near Trieste, Italy, attending the Conference on Structure and Dynamics in Soft Matter and Biomolecules. ICTP was founded by Nobel laureate Abdus Salam from Pakistan so people from all over the world (but especially from developing countries) could come and spend some time with their colleagues and learn about the latest advances in their field.

In many of the photos below, the guy in a red t-shirt is Artem Badasyan (now at the University of Ljubljana); the girl seen in some of the photos is Tatyana Buryakina from Armenia. We didn't have a lot of free time, but we did manage to explore the city and its surroundings a bit.
